  1. Creationism is strictly religiously based. Which is a no-no in public schools.

Edit: thumbs down for the truth? It is true! It cannot be taught as not everyone is Christian or religious. Plus, evolution is taught as a theory not as proven fact.

Edit2: Not to contradict, but there is a lot more proof saying evolution is real than saying it isn't. Plus, Darwin is not the only scientist to think of this. There was a lot more scientists before him that made similar conclusions. Darwin just connected the dots.

  2. because both sides take an amount of faith to believe. It you are a Christian, it does not make since to also believe in evolution because the Bible teaches against it. However, if you are not a Christian, there is no reason not to believe in either or both.

  3. Nothing as far as I'm concerned.

  4. Holy c**p I agree with Brian.

Creationism is a closed matter, with all its "proof" written by a few men a couple thousand years ago as their best guess attempt to explain the world.

    It is not science.

Evolution is a testable, provable, constantly evolving (ha!) set of SCIENTIFIC theories. Understand the the word theory has a different meaning in science.

  5. Ever hear of the Big Bang Theory?  It evolved from 3 molecular atoms called a republican, democrat and independent.

Then all the sudden when the 3 all made contact with each other...

    BANG!!!!!!!!

That's all we know of how we've become who we are today.  :)

  6. It ain't Betty or Veronica.

    Its either science or faith.

Creationism isn't anything but a story, nothing but a story you can believe it or not.

Evolution has fossils, bones, core samples, DNA, mitochondria, and is still a work in progress, but it has factual base.  Its science.

Not stories, not daydreams, not fairy tales.

If you must teach creationism, do it in Bible School, you can't teach it without using God, and a specific Bible.  You need faith to believe it.

But they aren't equal, and they can't be taught as if they were.

  7. theories (i.e. gravity, global warming, cell theory, EVOLUTION) have always been taught in schools. anything with significant scientific background has. creationism does not have any sci background

  9. None, if you don't care if children are ignorant.

Creationism (without the mention of God ) was created specifically as a pseudo-science so it could be taught in public schools to counter the teaching of evolution.  You will not see this pseudo-schence being taught in Christian schools where they can mention God.

Note: Where God can me mentioned, Christians choose to teach the Bible.  Where i cannot, they have a non-God referencing pseudo-science.  Smell like three day old fish to you?

  10. Because creationism is religion. Religion should not be taught in public schools. If you enroll your child in a Catholic school or something, then that is your choice. But the government cannot force religious beliefs onto the students. Other than that, there is OVERWHELMING proof for evolution. It is scientific fact. That's why it is taught in science classes.

I learned Creationism in Western Civ during a chapter about comparative religion. We learned about the views of a few different religions on the matter. But it was never presented as fact. I think in this form, teaching kids ABOUT creationism is acceptable and informative. Creationism cannot be presented as an alternative scientific theory to evolution, because it simply is not.

  11. Many Christians do accept evolution, evangelicals might be an exception I do not know though.

Me personally I believe in creationism, but evolution is unarguably real.

Look at world records in running for example, that is basically all you need.

The theory of evolution proposed by Charles Darwin >_>

    Not a fact.

Why there is speculation as to if creationism is another source of where humans came from.

    Good question.

    Hope that helped.

  12. As long as Creation thought is not part of the science curriculum and is presented as part of a larger philosophy type class I don't see anything wrong with it.

  13. Evolution had to start some where !

Where did time and space come from ?

Some things just can not be explained so we think of a higher power !

Or in your case try to think of a piece of paper with only one side !

  14. I am a very religous person, yet I am open to all ideas as to how God brought man into this world.

  15. Good point. Don't worry. There's plenty of creationism being taught in private schools and homes throughout America. Don't let the Marxist atheists on this site bother you...they are a very vocal minority.

  16. There is nothing wrong with teaching both. Evolution is a THEORY.

This is the type of science liberal are spewing now days:

Here is your science for you:

I was watching a program on Discovery or National Geographic and it was showing the mating rituals of some dinosaurs as fact! The mating rituals! Now how the h*ll would anyone know the mating rituals of an extinct animal gone thousands and thousands of years ago? Not just the mating rituals but how the dinos acted but what they thought.

    Here’s another one:

Scientists at the University of Kyoto were surprised to find that young 5-year old chimps were actually better than college students at memory tasks. Even after three months of memory training, three of the brighter students could still not match the chimps' ability to remember sequence-oriented tasks.

I had actually heard about that last one from a college student, totally convinced by this study. I asked her how she could believe such foolishness. She replied “It’s true”

Having gone through school prior to liberal propaganda and indoctrination, I asked her who organized the tests between students and chimps, who scheduled it, who chose the location and time of this test and was any human involved in teaching the test to the chimps?

Until some chimp is able to accomplish all those tasks and give people tests, it is humans and always will be humans that are smarter then chimps, for that matter any animal.

This is the propaganda being spewed to your children in the schools.

  17. Creationism is not a science and suffers from the "reverse scientific method"  It begins with an unproven (i.e. god), throws out all contradictory evidence, and hails its findings as the one and only truth.

You need to take a class in evolution.  We evolved from an ape-like ancestor.  We are not the product of two people who lived for over 900 years.

Evolution, like gravity, is a theory.  In science, the definition of a theory is different that than the causal use of having a hunch. According to the United States National Academy of Sciences,

"Some scientific explanations are so well established that no new evidence is likely to alter them. The explanation becomes a scientific theory. In everyday language a theory means a hunch or speculation. Not so in science. In science, the word theory refers to a comprehensive explanation of an important feature of nature that is supported by many facts gathered over time. Theories also allow scientists to make predictions about as yet unobserved phenomena."

  18. If creation is a fact why were we not created with all the knowledge we have today, especially knowledge on how to relieve severe pain in babies too young to talk?

As far as I'm concerned evolution is a fact and we are constantly evolving, mainly in our brains as we become more and more knowledgeable.

If churches weren't able to push their philosophies and create converts to provide them with income through their tithes and cash contributions then those in the churches would have to find a real job.

  19. Actually evolution has been proven pretty conclusively.  That's why it's called a theory, like gravity.  Theory = fact in the scientific lexicon.  Perhaps you should do some more research.

  20. evolution is a fact, that is why there is a "theory of evolution" - a scientific theory is not some wild hunch. Scientific theories try to explain facts - it is a fact that humans share a common ancestor with primates. It is a fact that life evolves - what is not known for sure - the "theory" part, is the exact mechanism for how this occurs.

gravity is a fact - hence "gravitional theory" - not to be confused with the "law of gravity" which is an approximation that can be written as an equation.

no observation or piece of evidence has ever been found that was contradictory to the fact of evolution, in fact, the opposite is true - every piece of evidence that led darwin to his idea was later confirmed FROM EVERY POSSIBLE ANGLE we developed - genetics, protein studies, physiology - every aspect of biochemistry - the entire field of biology makes no sense at all without evolution as an explanation.

  21. Creationsim is going too far as public schools are concerned. "Intelligent design" (and at their core, the 2 theories are different) should be at least a science elective in public schools.
