  1. Though I own several guns, and fully support the 2nd amendment, the NRA is too far right for me. I am a bit closer to the center. I do belong to the American Legion and the 2nd amendment is on our agenda.

  2. I fully support the second amendment.  It was put in for a very specific reason, and that reason wasn't to protect yourself from burglars and rapists.  It also wasn't put there for hunters.

The whole purpose for the second amendment, was to allow the people to protect themselves from there own government.  One of the first things that happen when a government takes over, is they try to remove weapons from the people...

  3. I support the right to bear arms but I think the amendment itself is poorly worded because it is out of date since soldiers no longer have to bring their own guns to fight, but are issued them by the service.

  4. I support the second amendment.  I am not a member of the NRA - I appreciate much of their positions and what they do.  But I can't get past their opposition to requiring background checks at gun shows.

  5. I fully support the entire US Constitution. The Second Amendment is part of that great doctrine.

  6. I'm not a member of the NRA because the members are often supporters of other organizations and various agendas I do not support. However, I do own guns. I was born and raised in the south, so virtually everyone I know does regardless of political affiliation. I think everyone should own guns. That said, I don't see the organization (NRA) as protecting my right, because the right is God-given - we had it before there was a constitution and we will have it the day there isn't. Humans have armed themselves since forever, we are not going to stop any day soon.

  7. The N.R.A. has been weak, and ineffective on Protecting and Enforcing our 2nd Amendment Rights according to the way our founding fathers meant it, and wrote it.* " The Right to Keep and Bear Arms Shall Not Be Infringed.".. There are only two (2*) States in the U.S. that truly honor, respect, and live up to the 2nd Amendment.*  They are Vermont and Alaska.* All other States violate, subvert, compromise, deny, and ignore the 2nd Amendment along with the Federal, State, County, and Local Governments.* There is nothing in the 2nd Amendment about Permits, Fees, Transfers, Gun Free Zones, Special Training, Schools, Post Offices, Government Buildings, Airports, Concealed Carry, Open Carry, Fingerprinting, Registration, Hunting Permits, or Licenses.* I really don't see where the N.R.A. has Protected and Maintained our True 2nd Amendment Rights at all.* Even the 232 year old Right to Bear Arms Section of the Pennsylvania Constitution is more straight forward about the Rights of Individual Gun Owners than the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution.* It states*> " The Right of Citizens to Bear Arms in Defense of Themselves and the State Shall Not Be Questioned."...The 2nd Amendment and Guns only have two Enemy's Rust and Politicians.* My Question to the N.R.A. is " Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How are you going to Restore this Right?* Get it Done.* What are they waiting for?* Then and only then will they get my support, because they sure have not lived up to their Beliefs and Goals regarding the 2nd Amendment.*

  8. i'll let you know when i'm done cleaning my gun

  9. I support the 2nd amendment, but I can't stand the NRA.  Why?  Because they will lie to you and say ALL Democrats are anti-gun.  ALL gun laws, even for safety, is just the first step to confiscation.  I used to be a member until the first election.  They asked me to vote for every Republican running.  No thanks.  As much as I like my guns, I like having the necessities of life better.  The NRA has turned into a radical organization that fights even needed gun laws.  I will never vote for a candidate or party based on one issue.  Want to trade your Social Security check to keep your guns?  Not me.

  10. I support ALL the amendments.  What bothers me is that many members of the NRA seem all too willing to throw away the Fourth, the First and the Fourteenth, among others, but would die to support the Second.

Aren't they all equally important to our country?

  11. I'm not a joiner, but I am a member of the NRA in spirit.

  12. I think when the government bans something they are simply losing all control. I think people should have the right to make their own mistakes without the government butting in so much.

  13. I support the second amendment - everyone should have the right to bear arms if they so choose to do so (with a thorough background check and the proper guidelines followed).  I choose NOT to be a member of the NRA because I think they are nothing but zealots FOR the second amendment - just as bad as the zealots AGAINST the second amendment, as far as I am concerned.

I don't think one has to be a member of the NRA to support the second amendment.

  14. Absolutely very important. Another reason not to vote for Obama, his favorite Supreme Court Judge is Ginsberg who consistently votes against the second amendment.

  15. I support the right to bear arms, but I also support the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, which should come before anything else. If having no regulations on guns means that life, liberty and pursuit of happiness of the american people is threatened, then I think something should be done. As of now there needs to be a mucher tighter grip on gun control-not saying people shouldn't be allowed guns, but there should be levels of evaluations before a person can get one-but classes and evaluations you have to take to own a gun should be free(I mean it makes sense that a person has to go through drivers ed because of how many idiots kill people every year, why not guns?). I realize there are some regulations but they are NOT enough, my neighbor carries a gun and has a permit to do it, even though he's an untreated alcoholic and has misfired at times. I shouldn't have to be afraid that a bullet might come through my window, and i think it's a shame for it to be that easy to get a gun. I think people with guns should have an inspector come every year to make sure you still have your guns and they are safe for you to use(to protect you as well as others, a trained inspector might be able to spot a faulty gun that could hurt you). That way we can be assure of our safety while at the same time creating jobs! I mean you obviously like guns, how awesome of a job would it be if you could go around and look at peoples guns?

maybe it should be something almost pushed on us as much as drivers ed! maybe gun safety could eventually be a high school course!

maybe safety in general is a course we should all take! learn what to do in case of many situations, such as a fatal wound, or a tornado, or for girls how to protect yourself for a rape ... who knows?
