  1. I feel sarcasm here . . .(?)

But the thing is . . . if he says he's a Dem, and he's still pushing for a McCain presidency, the idea is that it'll send a message to "other Dems" that it's okay to vote (R) if they want to.  Kind of a fake bipartisanship thing, if you ask me.  Should stick to calling himself Independent.

  2. I believe he's registered as a member of the Democratic party, on his voter registration information. However he was not nominated by the Democratic party. So he's actually right about being a registered Democrat, I think. Even though he's a de facto Republican.

  3. More Senior Moments is the theme of the RNC.

  4. Hey don't pick on Lieberman.  He's very useful.  Like when he and Graham stand next to McCain to correct him when he makes his blunders about foreign affairs.  McCain needs good people like that.

  5. He switched to independent to try and get elected, and nobody has touched him since.

  6. He calls himself an Independent Democrat since the Democrats in his state tried to oust him.

  7. Lieberman is a reliable, liberal Democrat... save for one or two issues ( his staunch support for israel and wars V anyone who might hate Israel..

Other than that he is a very liberal guy...

HIs party decided to go one issue..anti-war. his issue was juxtaposed to it... they turned on their own, he is right to jump ship and reccommend his longtime friend John McCain instead of towing the party line... he had to go independant to remain relevant on teh national stage...

But there is no doubt that he is a democrat...irrespective of his voter registration.

  8. He is a Democrat that went against his party on some key issues. During the last election the Democrats didn't support him for his reelection so he ran as a Independent. In Congress he is classified as an Independent but he votes with the Democrats.
