  1. gmail, free through Google is a good e-mail system.

  2. I've been with Yahoo since they ate Geocities  (about 10? years) BUT if they haven't fixed the new Yahoo since I was tricked into it some 5 months ago, I'll be switching to Gmail. I hear it's good.

For several days after I was put into the new Yahoo, I struggled to straighten out the mess that it created but finally I found the way to revert back to the original page.

I could not set up TV listings, things would not display properly, etc., etc...

At least they were nice enough to give us a heads up.  I guess I'd better prepare to weather the disaster that I'm expecting.

  3. ur not forced

  4. honestly i like the new yahoo i can change the color & have as many modules as i like

  5. Let me add to the confusion...it is Thursday July 10, 2008. On my My Yahoo! page, there is a banner that reads "This version of My Yahoo! will shut down in 4 days." This sure sounds like a forced change to me. I've tried the new version and I don't particularly care for it. So the question remains: how about some recommendations for other portal pages that are customizable and offer an alternative to what some of us feel is a bloated ,unnecessary change  in the My Yahoo! page?

  6. We are not forced. The original is available. Try Gmail if you don't like the "all noo" Yahoo.

  7. We are being forced. I have used My Yahoo since it started years ago. It is being taken away, My home page, which I have used unchanged for over five years is being shut down. I have lost count of how many times I have had to click to avoid my home page being rerouted to the New CRAPPY My Yahoo. In four days I will no longer be able to use my home page. That is the very definition of being forced.

I too am looking for a different portal. There is no way I am staying with Yahoo after this. I have heard there is a portal that donates part of its advertising revenue to progressive and environmental causes, I want to find that one. I am sick of Yahoo trying to be like Evilsoft.
