  1. Governments only respond to areas and folk who help to keep them in 'power' [responsibility actually!] Do you think New Orleans will ever be restored for the folk who got flooded out? I'm waiting to see!

The people who were flooded out of their homes in the UK are still living in caravan parks and still the government allows new build on flood plains.  However, beware - the insurance companies have said they will not insure new build properties on flood plains.

  2. This is crazy the flooding is still on going, what do you want the government to pass a law against too much rain or maybe show up with tractor trailer loads of bounty and suck up all the water,FEMA is designed to provide emergency temporary help AFTER a disaster, not during a disaster, the water will have to reseed before any one can start to repair the damage, even then why do people think the government is suppose to fix every emergency in your life, grow up and be a little more responsible for your own well being stop asking others to do it for you.

  3. Because Bush hates river folks now.  I'm just waiting for Kanye to say something else stupid...

  4. Is Guineapig really suggesting that the people in New Orleans got assistance because they help to keep the Bush Administration in power?  Says something, doesn't it?

  5. Given the choice of handling things themselves or asking for help from FEMA, I think they'd prefer to handle things themselves.
