  1. Wow, that's the on difference between humans, chimps and gorillas that really stands out for you? I would think t******e size might be a bit more of a "yowza" but hey, who am I to judge?

All our hair falls out at some point. Yes, the hair on our head can grow quite long versus the hair on the rest of our body, but it still has a finite growth span. People with incredibly long hair still lose some when they brush. The hair on head most likely served to protect our heads from the sun as we became bipedal and moved out onto the savannahs (from the jungles) to look for food. That's also why we tend to get hair on our shoulders more than, say, our love-handles. Our eyebrows and eyelashes serve the important function of keeping water and dust out of our eyes.

  2. Because the branch of ancestry that humans took, is one that includes the trait of continuously growing hair.

  3. chimps got continually growing brains,we got continually growing hair,go nfigure

  4. Bc we didn't evolve. God made us.

  5. "Humans have much less visible hair than do other primates like apes and monkeys. Surprisingly, however, a square centimetre of human skin carries a greater number of hair-producing sites (called follicles) than the same area of the skin of other primates. We have lost  the requirement for insulating our bodies, and presumably the hair which animals need for this."

A human head has about 100,000 hairs and they grow about 6 inches a year. Whats known as the anagen phase is when a hair stats to grow, It lasts lasts between three and seven years in most people, then the hair falls out. Which means some people won't be able to grow their hair much past 18 inches.

All hair grows. In some dog breeds the hair can be trimmed and in others, such as short hair dogs, it sheds.

  6. My answer would be too long....but, if you're really, really interested in research on your question....read the book,"The Ascent of Woman' by Elaine Morgan....you'll never think the same again!

  7. we evolved differently to them . we aren't the exact descendants from chimps, but we have evolved from a chimp like animal. the evolution tree branched out to for primates and us. therefore they have a totally different DNA structure to us, limiting the growth of their hair. plus they shed it too.

  8. Because I think this evolution theory is a load of nonsense.

Do you really think your great great great whatever was a monkey?  Twaddle.

  9. Because they evolved in a ecological niche near the Equator (Sub-Saharan Africa)...They only needed a certain amount of hair in a jungle environment!

Humans migrated all over the planet, and if you notice, Caucasians (Who moved to northern Europe 40,000 years ago) tend to be the most hirsute "race", especially observe the chest & back hair on Caucasian males.

  10. I think this, along with other attributes, like an appendix, other body parts. Possibly toes, etc, are something that is slowly being evolved into another past product. It takes hundreds of thousands of years for evolution to relieve us of these things.

  11. All animals have continually growing hair. I have to have my dog shaved every few months because she doesn't shed.

It is not really a question of whether we evolved or were created.

Think about the functionality of hair. It insulates and protects skin.

It grows thick on one's body where heat management, friction or other environmental protections are needed.

    That's all it is.

  12. their hair grows too

  13. Because we evolved in different environments. There are much more significant differences between humans and apes than hair growth. We just evolved differently.
