Can we agree on this: There are lots of double standards that disadvantage women, and there are lots of double standards that disadvantage men, so it balances out.

  1. Even if that was true, it's no reason not to get rid of them.

  2. Actually, there are a lot more double standards that favor women.

  3. i think it's pretty even, maybe even tipped to an advantage for women at this point in time. i would feel bad about it, but i'm a woman and thusly just feel fortunate for it.

  4. Depends on the area we're discussing.  But no, IMO it isn't very balanced at all.  Yes both genders suffer discrimination, but in areas like education, sexual roles, appearance, family choices, career, expectations of behavior, and many others make me think women face a greater disadvantage, while men's discrimination is more often benevolent, though not always.

One wonders if GWSers spend too much time on here listening to anti-fem BS and not enough time in the real world.

  5. Pretty much......

  6. I agree men suffer from double standards placed on them but I can't agree that it's even.

Proof?  Look who holds all the money and power in America.  It's even worse in other countries.

  7. hmmmmmmmm maybe

  8. Women have  a grave advantage. The rights that men lack are also of a more detrimental nature....fathers rights, abortion issues etc   Men have had all rights regarding family virtually removed and are still held to  the same level of responsibility.

The scales are so far tipped in women's favor that men are now hanging on by a thread.

  9. Sorry man. I can't agree with you. There is to much evidence supporting a growing advantage for women.
