Since when are public service announcements so g*y?

I recently turned on the tube watching what I thought was some quality programming. suddenly a commercial break ensued and it was around 45 seconds or so. may i remind you this is NBC?!?! and the premise was a kid who couldn't hit a baseball while throwing it up and after being depressed and giving up someone says, hey you're a great pitcher so he says way to look on the bright side. then the phrase "optimism makes the world go round" and i spit my columbian coffee how ;pc have we become?

I really dont find that g*y, offensive, or otherwise a bad commercial.

I think it contains a message and thats all.
