Since when did chik-fil-a start handing out "dipping sauce" for their sandwich?

I went to chick-fil-a for lunch today and ordered their basic number 1, a chicken sandwich. The guy asked me what kind of "dipping sauce" I wanted and I reinforced that I was getting the sandwich not the nuggets. He then said 99.9% of people want "dipping sauce" for it. As if I was an idiot.

I have never wanted "dipping sauce" for my chicken sandwich and have never been offered it for that before in the seven years I've eaten at chick-fil-a. Is this a common thing and am I an idiot or is he?

Everybody gets it.  You don't literally 'dip' your sandwitch into the sauce, you pour the sauce on the chicken.  Without the dipping sauce, it's just too dry and boring.

I am in love with their BBQ sauce, so I can totally see that.
