I buy the evening standard in my local sainsburys and have noticed that on the recept the casher has to confirm that I am over 16.....I thought this was a mistake the 1st time but it always happens......does this apply to all newspapers???

  1. Not as far as i know. Ask them next time

  2. I agree with 'Teddy'. You should ask the cashier next time what it's about.

  3. Its probably because you pay for your newspapers where the lottery ticket point/tills are.

  4. It just might be a state thing where they have to verify their customers age thing.

    Do they sell cigarettes too?

  5. For general, everyday newspapers, there is no age restriction.
