  1. 2004 purcased  top flite golf later purchased hogan golf which at the time was called top flite golf . quality of post 2004 hogans poor  if you want real hogans  look for  forged . or fort worth texas on the hosel . later models have very strong lofts , longer shafts . callaway turned these into clubs that are made for people who want a 140 yard pitching wedge . need four wedges with callaway/hogans . or if you are ancient like me toss driver . use 5 wedges  . spalding did change thier golf clubs to top flite year 2000

  2. Calloway bought Spaulding golf products several year ago.  They also own Hogan now too, and Odyssey putters.

  3. In Sept. 2003, Callaway outbid Adidas (TaylorMade) for TopFlite in a bankruptcy auction. Callaway paid $169 million.

It's been an interesting purchase for them, less for the balls than for the portfolio of patents that came with it, which has in turn sparked a lawsuit against Titleist, which Callaway accuses of stealing patented ideas from the TopFlite portfolio.
