Sindh High Court adjourns Danish Kaneria’s petition – Cricket News Update
Pakistan’s exiled leg-spinner, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Danish-Kaneria-c1314’s petition hearing, which he filed against the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to seek justice, has been adjourned by the Sindh High Court (SHC).
"The court has adjourned the hearing until August 18 after PCB legal adviser Taffazul Rizvi submitted a reply on the case," said court orders after the hearing.
A few days ago, Kaneria requested the court to ask the PCB to provide explanation for neglecting him from selection in the national side without any reason.
The PCB has been ignoring the leggy since he faced spot-fixing allegations while representing English County, Essex, in 2010.
Earlier, the Essex Police released him from a criminal trial, after arresting him on the allegation of corruption in the game.
According to the Corps, they did not find any evidence against him; however, they put charges on Kaneria’s Essex partner, Mervyn Westfield, who was arrested in the same case.
Despite his release, the ruling authority of cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 set up the integrity committee to oversee Kaneria’s case.
In this regard, the PCB also asked the 30-year-old, spinner, who was born in Karachi, to get clearance letter from Essex County.
In return, Pakistan's test leg-spinner handed over a clearance letter to PCB, which he received from his County; however, the cricket board refused to accept it and advised him to provide clearance according to the requirements of the integrity committee, which eventually irked Kaneria, and forced him to knock on the court’s door.
Coming back to SHC’s statement, the leg spinner, showed dissatisfaction, and expressed strong willingness to represent his national side.
“I will obey the orders, but the delay is frustrating me as I want to play for my country, which is my right after being cleared by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Essex-c783 police,” he said.
On the other hand, once again, the PCB refused to consider him for the selection before the integrity committee’s decision.
“PCB cannot select Kaneria in the team until and unless he gets clearance from the integrity committee,” the legal advisor of the cricket board stated.
“The court has ordered Kaneria to get another opinion from his British lawyer and submit it before the integrity committee and the matter will then be decided,” he added.
