Sindh Open Golf from the 23rd of July 2010
All the sleeping Pakistanis wake up, its time you get up, get out of your jumpers and make your way to the Arabian Sea Country Club from July 23rd to July 25th for the Sindh Open Golf Tournament 2010.
Organized under the Sindh Golf Association, this is the 11th time that the Sindh Open Golf tournament has been held for the twelfth time In Pakistan. The tournament is going to be a big event of all times giving the prize money of amount one million rupees. Wow a big amount! Let’s see who takes this five digit figure home.
Pakistan Sports Board is responsible for this mega event. Ever since 1977, when it was established under the Ministry of Education ,PSB has been actively working on the sports industry of Pakistan so that they can provide the people with some quality luxury and at the same time compete with international sports associations as well. This is all about the sports organization of Pakistan let’s moving to the real big thing.
The tournament is going to take place at Arabian Sea Country Club with beautiful broad fairways and undulating greens. The two set of trees at the golf course adds to the difficulty of the game. To test the challenging abilities of the golfers there is a set of tees side by side .It has the par of 72, with regular 18 holes. The club has two courses, one the Northwest Course with rolling greens, and four beautiful large lakes. Whereas the South Course is comparatively longer and more challenging than the Northwest Course with 4 lakes, rolling greens and tree fairways. It has more than eighty bunkers and is stretched at 200 acres. The designer of the Golf course is K. Okada San of Taisei Corporation of Japan. The tournament is not going to be a feel of fresh air for the locals but also a mesmerizing experience for the golf players because of the magnificent beauty of the venue.
According to the management team of the tournament 150 players out of 1272 professional players of Pakistan will be attending. Pakistan’s biggest players will compete against each other. The defending champion Shabbir Iqbal will be the part of this big game of 54-hole in three days. Shabbir Iqbal belongs to Pakistan Navy. Although the lists of the players have not been finalized but Mohammad Munir, Imdad Hussain, Amjad Yousuf, Shahid Javed Khan, Matloob Ahmed, Mohammad Tariq, Waheed Baloch and Mohammad Siddique are confirmed for the game. It would have been way too exciting if the former champion Ansar Mehmood would have also contested for the championship after all he is the only one player who can give Shabbir some hard time. Shabbier Iqbal has sworn to take the 11th PSO Sindh Open Golf trophy back home, and there are no doubts about this claim after considering that the hunk is in all form to snatch away the winning prize from right under the nose of other players. All bets on the player who takes the trophy and the prize money home, but who will be that lucky guy? After all golf is not only the game of accuracy and target but it is also partly luck at times. By the way after looking at the list of the players it seems as if no woman is a part of this tournament .Anyways as long as it is safe and fun the gender does not matters. Right boys?
