Sindh’s Mohammad Ishtiaq dominates against Punjab’s Farhan Noor: 3rd Ranking Snooker
Jubilee Insurance Third National Ranking Snooker Championship 2012 has produced some of the best snooker shows at the Karachi Gymkhana Club so far where leading cuemen of the national circuit are testing their luck and giving the best of their skills to
make their way into the ultimate stage of the tournament to grab the ranking snooker championship title.
The Karachi Gymkhana baize featured some classy snooker shows in the penultimate stage of the round robin formatted matches. The spectators, who came to watch their favourite players, witnessed a couple of tussling encounters and major upsets during the
proceedings.
One of the toughest matches was played between Mohammad Ishtiaq and Farhan Noor where Ishtiaq was victorious by the score line of 4-3 after he clinched the decider frame. The Sindhi potter played sensibly in the final frame and did not give any chances to
the Punjabi cueman to unsettle him.
The opening frame of the game finished in Ishtiaq’s favour as he grabbed early lead of one frame at 1-0. Noor followed him with the second frame win to pull level at 1-1. The next four frames were shared the same way between the two until they reached 3-3
and dragged the game into the decisive set. The final frame was a difficult one to win but Ishtiaq handled the pressure tremendously to win the frame.
