  1. the US has many athletes from other countries too, like Lukin.

  2. I think that the Singapore team really tried their best. To go up against a powerhouse like China and still manage to drag the competition for over an hour shows that the team really posed a real challenge to China. Even though it is only a silver, we should not take it for granted, and should feel proud for Singapore and the team.

Even though the table tennis team may not have been born in Singapore, they still trained in Singapore, participated in the Singapore sports program, live in Singapore, and have citizenship. They competed for Singapore wearing the national colours. Even though they may not be born in Singapore, but they still have the Singapore spirit in them and they have done Singapore proud.

  3. I think there are some people who have not got over the foreign talent/local talent debate. Whatever, it is... we should give due recognition to the girls! I'm sure they have made sacrifices on their part, to decide to represent Singapore so we should treat them equally. Very proud that they have delivered in this Olympics and that hopefully, such high-level performance can be sustained in future meets. They sure have raised the profile of sports in Singapore. I think the girls' gracious sports(wo)manship is highly commendable when they went to congratulate the South Korean team before ascending the prize-platform! That's the true spirit of the Games... you have represented Singapore well & we are proud of you! Welcome back, girls!
