Question:

Singapore Connecting Flight

I have flight into Singapore that should arrive at Terminal 1 at 20:15 from Dubai. I need to get to Jakarta that night and have booked a Garuda flight at 21.25 from Terminal 1. I'm starting to get real concerns over the chances of making the conection as I will need to collect my baggage and exit before check-in to Garuda. I understand the check-in will close at 20.40, just giving me 25 minutes to from the Dubai flight, collect my bag and get to the check-in.

What would happen if I was to "forget" my bag and go straight to the check-in. Anyone have any idea's how I can make this flight

thanks

  1. You made a right choice to rebook your Garuda flight to later time if not you will sure miss your connection.

My advise is next time you can book your flight to Jakarta by Emirates all the way as Emirates have a flight route from Dubai to Jakarta for your convinient.

  2. your schedule is too tight. i once had a connecting flight that was 3 hours apart but i almost didn't make it because of my baggage. my advice is 1. be prepared to rebook your flight to jakarta for the next available trip or 2. don't bring any baggage for check-in; send them to your destination via freight forwarder instead so that you can sprint from arrivals to departure. either way, you'll have to shell out some money. good luck!

  3. Ask the check-in people in Dubai to check your luggage through to Jakarta. You shouldn't have to pick it up at all. They should cross-load it for you in Singapore. Airlines do this all the time.

If you do pick it up, you're right, you'll never make it.
