Singapore Open 2012: Pribadi Setia, Jeffrey Wong pave their path to Men’s Doubles main round

Men’s Doubles team Pribadi Setia Atmaja-H C Jeffrey Wong reserved their right to be in the main draw of Li Ning Singapore Open after beating Robin Gonansa-Chao Huang in qualifying round on June 19, 2012.
This final tussle for main round entry lasted for 38 minutes and both compatriot couples sweat hard while piling up final total of 21-15, 16-21 and 14-21.
The victorious team Pribadi Setia-Jeffrey Wong is now subjected to a tough trial as they will face World Number 11 Japanese duo Naoki Kawamae-Shoji Sato in first round of main draw.
However, they will surely utilise their valuable experience and confidence of last qualifying round match in which they came back from a horrendous start and locked the honour.
They looked off colour in opening set of the match and hardly created any problem for the opposing team.
Meanwhile, the twosome of Robin Gonansa and Chao Huang masterly manipulated this situation and pocketed full benefits.
They managed to end first half with slight edge in 11-9 total and started second half with an intensive assault.
They dominated four nonstop rallies and took their total to 15. They did not drop their pace and clinched first match point with notable difference in 21-15 margin.
However, it was their last success in the event as their compatriots Pribadi Setia and Jeffrey Wong revived their lost form and thundered in following set.
The Singaporean pair set the foundation by registering 7-3 score and then made best out of this initial advantage by reaching at 11-7 before interval.
After mid-game break, they increased their speed and established six-point lead in 17-11. This huge gap was never covered by the opposing team and Pribadi-Jeffrey swept the table with 21-16 margin.
Third set was also played at same speed and in same manner as both pairs were standing at same level initially but then winners of previous game repeated the history to seize the honour.
Men’s Doubles experts Pribadi and Jeffrey gained a decent advantage with 11-8 until half time and then maintained this upper hand to finish this battle with decisive figure of 21-14.
