Singapore airlines hand luggage max?

my hand luggage for my flight to oz with singapore airlines is 10kg but their website says 7kg - can i get away with it? Or will I have to pay majorly!?

Could go either way, sometimes you can get away with it, but I suggest having a Plan B.  Pack about 3kg in your hand luggage separately in a plastic bag, and if they want to charge you extra, whip the 3kg bag out and put it in your checking in bag.

Of course if that is already up to the max - you're stuffed, baby !
