I've got a brand new Singer Inspiration 4205 sewing machine.. it's a fairly basic machine that seems straightforward enough, but it hasn't worked properly since I've had it. First, I had a problem that too much bobbin thread was being pulled up... so, the top of the fabric had a beautiful stitch, but the underside looked like it'd been embroidered with shag carpet. I could alleviate the problem somewhat by adjusting the tension, but only temporarily -- it kept happening again. Then, one day when I was sewing, the needle completely stopped picking up the bobbin thread. So, when sewing, it looks like things are going well from the top, but when I release it... the stitches just fall out, because nothing has been stitched from beneath. I looked over the instruction sheet and tried to make sure that I had everything set up properly... but it is fairly difficult to understand (because there are no words, only pictures), so I can't be sure. I've used sewing machines before though and felt relatively confident I had everything threaded properly. Anyone have an idea?
