  1. What size needle are you using, what fabric, and how many thicknesses?  Are you pulling or pushing the fabric under the presser foot?  Do the needles break as you're changing fabric thickness, like trying to go over the side seam of jeans while you're hemming?  If you put in a new needle and watch carefully in the bobbin case area as you turn the handwheel, does the needle hit some part of the bobbin case or sewing hook?

If you're pushing or pulling, quit it.  The feed dogs know how to move fabric.  All you have to do is steer.

If the needle is breaking while you're trying to go over a lump, then you need a hump jumper or similar tool to level the presser foot while going over the lump.

If the needle is hitting any part of the mechanism below the needle plate, and the needle is fully up into the needle holder of the machine, then you've got a timing issue, and you need to take it to the repair shop.

If the needle size or type is inappropriate for what you're sewing, you need to fix that.

  2. it can be caused too if the material you are using to sow it with is to thick. that already happened to me.

  3. Maybe a piece of needle is broken off,  remove needle plate & get a feather & dust it out.
