Question:

Singing lessons for fun?

My daughter and I are both bad singers. I'm just terrible all around and she sounds OK to me but has no control or confidence. However, we both love to sing our favorite songs, especially together and especially when we hit it together. It's all play and I wouldn't change that, but I wonder if any bad singers have taken lessons for fun? Or if any singing teachers would teach a pair that was doing it for fun?

I also wonder about the cost.

My daughter is 14 and I'm...older than that.

  1. Of course not, if it will make you and your daughter feel better than take lessons. That's what singing teachers are there for and they aren't only there to teach people who want to become "serious" singers. Music lessons are for everyone. I don't know if a singing teacher would take a pair, but you could negotiate.

Singing lessons very in cost, between 25 and $50 an hour. They are expensive, so if its just for fun then you might want to do some research to find the cheapest lessons possible.

You should also wait until your daughter is a bit older, that's if she plans to go places with her singing. But if its just mother daughter bonding time then go for it.
