Where should I go? Where should I stay?

Departure May 31 -til - June 14, 2008.

I need a good destination with a lots of real latin night clubs (no disco) and easy to find a dance partner for Salsa, merengue, bachata etc...

Cuba (Varadero) OR Dominican Républic (Where exactly?)

So far I found the Barcelo Solymar in Varadero, however I would like to have more suggestions...and recommendation!

Cheers!

  1. Between those two, I prefer cuba. You'll find the people very friendly... and... well lets say that they specialize in many services that cater to the tourism industry.

just a note... salsa styles are different from country to country. What style do you dance? It can be tough to dance with someone that has grown up with a completely different style.

Why not puerto rico? or colombia? I had a very good time dancing in curacao and aruba.

  2. Although you will see Salsa dancing in Dominican Republic, they are more big on Merengue & Bachata. Colombia like the other girl said is pretty dangerous for tourists.

Im not sure what country you are from but I can tell you that Puerto Rico is a great place to go on vacation & to have fun Salsa dancing. Cuba will probably be nice too, but I dont know myself, b/c being a US citizen, we are pretty much closed off from Cuba unfortunately. I recommend Cuba or Puerto Rico. Enjoy!

The Puerto Rico Salsa Congress will be staying at the El San Juan Hotel July 19th - July 26th 2008. They will host a lot of events in town.

  3. You could go to Venezuela or Costa Rica, lots of nice places there to visit and great Salsa and merengue dancers.
