Single Women adopting in Canada?

Hi Everyone, I was wondering about Adoption Agencies in Canada that accept single women to adopt. I wont be ready for a couple years but i want to do research yet. I really want to adopt. When i am done high school i want to go to college and do early childhood education. Then run a dayhome in my house. I am in my last year of high school now. please help me learn anything i will need to know.

  1. Single people are allowed to adopt in Canada.  You will have to do your homestudy just like everyone else.  If you are looking for an infant through an agency, the biological mother's decide who they will place their baby with, so being sinlge may or may not hurt you.  If you are looking for an older child - toddler to teenager, you would go through the public system (i.e. Children's Aid) and they match the child to the best suitable a-parents.  In both scenarios, you don't go in and get to pick your child, you have to wait for someone to pick you.  

    Since you are just researching right now, I suggest checking out some books and learning more about Canadian Adoptions - they are very different from US adoptions.
