Single fathers with daughters,what steps do you take to provide good female and/or feminist role models?

Since someone seemed upset about the YA answers to a question about what single mothers do to provide good male role models for their sons-I thought I'd see what single fathers do to provide female role models for their daughters..

Had that blessing for 13 yrs. I brought them into contact with many women as I felt good for them. Took them to the park where a womans baseball league played then I coached thier team for a while. They were given the oppertunity to stay with several stay at home moms, plus that was when take your kid to work just started & I was a professional so I would take them there to see women in the work place. & church & alot of experienses that rite now I cant remember. O_O a small airport with men & women pilots. Stuff like that.

One of my best friends is a single dad, and his little girl loves her Auntie Smudge. She is 4 and already a chlid after my own heart. <3 So no worries, at least one single dad's little girl is being well taken care of as far as that goes.

All children, whether from single parent homes or not, benefit from exposure and interaction with all kinds of people - friends and family.  The more adults they interact with, the more comfortable they are, and the more they learn about all kinds of people.

Single parents - both fathers and mothers - would do well to keep their home open to all sorts of people, family and friends.  Children will naturally gravitate toward one or a couple who they seem to 'click' with.  And sometimes, it is this person that a child will seek with difficult questions or problems in their lives.  For some reason, they may feel uncomfortable dealing with mom or dad.

So as long as the parents are selective and conscientious about the folks who come into their children's lives, I don't think we need to worry about 'female' or 'male' role models.
