Single parent..2 year old acting out

Question

my 2 year old boy will not stop throwing toys all over the place and smearing poo on the walls! I dont know that to do Ive tried hireing a nanny but that doesnt work she just quits because he is so hard to deal with ive taked him to therapy and everything. I also have a newborn so it is hard for me to deal with him at the same time...he just wont stop screaming and yelling and. He throws food everywhere and doesnt listen to a thing I say im a single parent of two and dont know what to do? Please HELP

Obviously the kid isn't getting enough attention or discipline. New baby means it gets worse. I'm sure you work and there isn't enough time for him. He doesn't see you as an authority figure.

Sounds like this is over your head and you will need the assistance of a pro.

Gosh, you poor thing! First of all you will be tired out so may have a shorter fuse than usual which your eldest will pick up on. Have you tried getting your son to help with bathing, burping the baby etc, the littliest things you involve him in will make him feel special. I know you will be worn out but try and make some special time with just you and him, even if it is things like asking if he would like to help you prepare a meal or fill up the washing machine. You also need some discipline and a time out area where you put him when he is naughty and leave him there for 2 minutes. Make sure it is somewhere safe with no toys etc and do no talk to him at all for the 2 minutes. If he moves just pick him up withour eye contact and no talking and put him back. It will take a few times for him to understand but it will work. Always carry out the ime out discipline when need be so that you do not confuse him.Maybe see your healh visitor if he does not improve and make sure yo have a little time to yurself too before you burn out.
