Single vs dual graphics cards?

I am almost finished deciding on a custom PC but have a final conundrum! Would 2 Nvidia 9600 graphics cards be better than a single Nvidia GTX 260? I use the computer mainly for gaming, but also day-to-day stuff like internet, banking, Office, music, films, etc. I initially wanted a GTX260 but my supplier has has a system with the dual option but says its no problem if I supplied the single one instead. I haven't a clue what to do!

  1. Go for the GTX260.

Patriot, at least $800 for either of those cards? You're talking about Zimbabwe dollars right? Because on Newegg you can get a GTX 260 for as low as USD$250.

  2. It's a tough call. But persoanlly, I think that dual 9600's would be better. Be prepared to spend at least $800-$1000 for both cards though. And make sure you have a mother board with SLI tech and a large enough power supply to handle all this.
