Single women in New York mid 20s to mid 30s?

Im coming to live in New York for a few days and im looking to hang out with single women in their mid 20s to mid 30s and maybe 40s. What are some good places to check out. Im not into crazy gold diggers and i dont do the club thing neither. Just good intelectual (preferbly single ) women.

I will be in the Hempstead area a lot

I disagree with the first answer...Anyway...Look up singles events in NYC on line - there are tons of meetings/gatherings going on for singles - like trips, wine tasting, dining opportunities.

You don't want to go out of your way at churches and malls to meet someone - you want to go somewhere where SINGLES WANT TO MEET YOU TOO!

Going on line isn't a bad option, either, because those women advertise right away what they're looking for. Good luck!

Since you don't do clubs:

* Supermarket

* Church

* Laundry Mat

* Subway

* The mall

Basically anywhere is GOLD. It's up to you to watch for signals or have the courage to make the first step.
