Well, your problem seems to be driver related. I assume you are using WinXP. If that's the case, go to google and go to the more section on top and look for a utility called Picasa and download it and install it. Then try connecting the camera to the computer. It should detect the camera and ask you if you want to scan the camera for pics. Let me know if it helped.
