You shoud see how long the average waiting period is on the country that your applied to website. If this is exceeded, try writing a letter or emailing the country for information

File a necessary application under the Right to information act with the concerned public information officer of the passport office.

Go to this site to view status of the passport. You would have a registration number and with that you can check the status.

Send in your application u/S.6[1] Right to Information Act, 2005, and ask details about your passport status.  The authorities are obliged to reply within 30 days.
