the Premier League...
Sir Alex Ferguson has come out and admitted that Ashley Young played for the penalty kick against Aston Villa at Old Trafford but the Manchester United manager was adamant that the spot-kick was the right decision as the foul was
committed inside the penalty area.
Villa found themselves hard done by referee’s decision at Old Trafford as Young went down dramatically within the first fifteen minutes of the match. There was indeed contact between Clark and Young’s leg but the former Watford
winger exaggerated his fall and influenced the referee into awarding the penalty kick which Rooney disposed of with relative ease.
United turned on the style after that and gained a 4-0 win over Aston Villa as Rooney netted another goal along with a goal each for Luis http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 said, "I think he played for the penalty. A player decides
to put his foot in and he's definitely taken him down then he's fallen in to that. I think it was a dramatic fall (by Young) and maybe he overdid the fall but it was a penalty and there's no doubt about that. I don't think they can have any complaint as he
has taken him.”
He added, "Good defending has always been good defending - if they read the game and keep their feet in they should really cope with that." Sir Alex also commented on the title race and refused to rule out that Manchester City
can still win the title by saying that there can be more surprises in the title race in the English Premier League.
He added, “There could be twists and turns yet but the name of the game is to enjoy ourselves and play with expression like we did. You can never be too confident. The name is the game is to not drop too many points. It was a good
result for us. In the first half we played some good stuff and the third goal killed the game and we were able to see it out."
