Manchester United’s manager has admitted that there is a huge possibility that Manchester City will once again spend a large amount of money in the summer transfer window as they are willing to pay extraordinary sums of transfer
fees coupled with over-the-top weekly wages...
Manchester City’s English Premier League title triumph might not stop them from signing more high profile players at extraordinary transfer fees in the summer transfer window. Sir Alex Ferguson recently admitted that one can expect
the Citizens to be at it in the summer transfer window as Manchester City’s mode of operation is distinctly different from what Manchester United try to do in the transfer windows.
Manchester City’s focus on buying readymade stars means that they will always have to pay large sums of money to secure these players from other clubs coupled with massive weekly wages to attract them towards the Etihad stadium
rather than other clubs. Manchester City won their first league title in over 44 years on the previous weekend with a dramatic final day win over Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson’s men finished second albeit level on points with the Citizens.
Sir Alex said, "We know City are going to spend fortunes, pay stupid money and silly salaries. We know that happens. We can't do anything about that. We are not like other clubs who can spend fortunes on proven goods. We invest
in players who will be with the club for a long time, who will create the character of the club and the excitement for our fans. We are good at that and we are going to continue that way."
He added, "We have set out our stall for certain players and we want to make sure the evolution continues at United. I have been at the club for 25 years and I have to maintain a certain standard that keeps us there all the time.
We don't always win it because we are always there, which is great credit to how we view things. But there is nothing materially wrong with us. I know there are some critics but we got 89 points."
