Sir Alex Ferguson asserts that rival title contenders stand no chance against United
Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson has dismissed claims and predictions of certain experts and football pundits, that United would go on to win the title mainly due to slip ups by title contenders.
Talking to a leading English newspaper, he said that he is only concerned about his team’s performance, regardless of the problems with their opponents. He added that other teams losing points does not affect how he prepares his team or how he plans out

Ferguson said, "You are always going to have a different appraisal of Manchester United to other clubs. But it is good for the players to be reminded that sometimes we have to be perfect. It's a fact of life. We have to keep raising the bar".
Ferguson said that his team has not been at their best away from home this season, but looking at the home games, there is not a single game at Old Trafford that United did not dominate.
Reflecting back at the big game against Arsenal that Manchester United won, Ferguson said that his team were, by far, the better team, and dominated Arsenal from start to finish. However, the next day papers asserted that it was a bad game. The United boss
went on to say that stats don’t lie and Arsenal had just one solitary shot in that game- and that is a fact that cannot be changed. He said that he is not bothered about how so-called pundits predict the season or assess his team, all he is concerned about
is what he thinks of his team and how he sees the season panning out.
Talking about stats this season, teams like Blackburn, Stoke and Blackpool have managed more wins that United. But the fact remains that, despite being mediocre and ordinary at times, United remain on top of the table.
When asked the question about away games this season, Ferguson admitted that there were some mistakes made by his team. He referred to Sunderland, West Brom and Everton games, where they gave in late goals to come home with just a draw.
