Manchester United manager Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson has revealed he is sad Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas was sacked mid-season by Russian owner Roman Abramovich.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 manager was sacked following a 1-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion in the English Premier League, but the real reasons are believed to be deep rooted. Villas-Boas was reportedly involved in rows with some of the senior players in the squad,
which is thought to be the reason he was replaced.
Villas-Boas becomes the eighth manager in eight years to be sacked as Chelsea manager by the Russian billionaire and the Manchester United boss revealed he was not surprised by the decision. Ferguson admitted he had been expecting the inevitable decision
for some time now.
Ferguson said in an interview:
“The news is not surprising to me really.
There was all the build-up in the media and obviously the results haven't been kind to him. But it is disappointing because he is a young manager.”
The Blues have not been doing too well this season, having been dropped out of the Carling Cup and the English Premier League title race earlier on. They are now in competition for just the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup, chances for which also look
slim.
While they are set to play Birmingham City in the replay of the FA Cup, they face a strong http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 do not have a very good chance in the European competition since they are trailing by a 3-1 defeat in the first leg
on the competition.
Ferguson was certain Villas-Boas would recover from the unfortunate sacking and would resume his career as a football manager next season. According to the Red Devils boss, the 34-year-old manager would go on to be a huge success.
He continued:
“When you are young you need time and obviously in this industry you don't get a lot of time unfortunately, so it is sad in a way. 
I hope he does well because he has got the potential. His work at Porto can't be ignored and I hope he comes back into the game soon.”
