Sir Alex Ferguson expects a quiet transfer window
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has claimed that he will not be signing any new players in the January 2011 transfer window.
Many believe that United are playing nowhere near their best in the 2010-11 season, but that has not stopped them from grinding out results. The Red Devils are currently leading the Barclays Premier League, with games still in hand over their nearest title
rivals. They are also within touching distance of the FA Cup and Champions League crowns.
Not surprisingly, Sir Alex sees no reason to change things. The legendary tactician has made it clear that he does not intend to bring in any new players in the 2010-11 season, saying he is more than happy with his current squad.
The United boss said, “I won't be going into the transfer market during the present mid-winter window. I thought at one time that I would like to bring in just one player, but that has not worked out.”
Manchester United have just started to find their rhythm, having gotten off to a slow start in the season. What’s more, United are still unbeaten in the current Premier League campaign. If the Red Devils can continue their current form, they are almost certainly
on their way to a record-breaking 19th Premier League crown.
Sir Alex feels that his current crop of players is more than capable of doing the job. To make things even better for the United boss, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Valencia-c6345 is set to return from injury by the end of January 2011. The Ecuadorian winger will provide the Red Devils
with even more attacking options, leaving Sir Alex with no need to delve into the transfer market.
Ferguson said, “I don't feel that it is necessary to buy just for the sake of it because, as I say, I am more than happy with my squad.”
Let’s see whether Manchester United can keep up their form when they face Blackpool on 25 January, 2011.
