Sir Alex Ferguson gives timeframe for Antonio Valencia, Anderson return
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed the extent of time http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 and Anderson would spend on the sidelines.
The manager was hopeful of having Valencia back for the FA Cup quarterfinal, which they will play against Leyton Orient or http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 on 12 March, 2011. On the question of Anderson, Ferguson revealed that the player would be back to training in two to three
weeks.
As the current 2010-11 season draws to a gradual close in May, the excitement and enthusiasm is increasing day by day. Manchester United are currently on the top of the Premier League table and would require the services of the entire squad to keep them
on that position.
The worst was feared for Anderson when he was pulled off the field in United’s slim 1-0 win over non-league side Crawley Town. The player was expected to be out for at least two months but Sir Alex, while talking to the pre-match press against Marseille,
stated that Anderson was sent to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984 to see a specialist and he is expected to be back in three weeks.
Valencia, who has spent most of the season on the sidelines following the injury he suffered against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 in the Champions League fixture, has resumed training with United and the manager was delighted with his progress.
“Antonio is training very well now. He is involved on the contact side and the signs are very encouraging. We expect him to be ready by the cup tie,” stated the United boss.
Manchester United have been hit with a rough patch on the injury front, as seven of their first choice names were absent from the team sheet against Marseille.
The manager, however, refused to panic and revealed that most of the missing names would be back by the time Marseille make the trip to Old Trafford three weeks later.
“Ryan Giggs should be okay for the Wigan game on Saturday, while http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Park-Ji-Sung-c29147 because he has been such a good player for us, but he should be back in two or three
weeks,” added Sir Alex.
Manchester United have conceded just once in the current Champions League season and are yet to lose a single match at home in all competitions. Despite having injuries, United still have enough firepower to win the fixture in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 and would want to score
an away goal to make the return leg pointless.
