Sir Alex Ferguson hails Javier Hernandez

Sir Alex Ferguson, the manager of Manchester United had hailed his summer signing Javier Hernandez after the young Mexican came up with a late winner for the Red Devils. Manchester United beat Valencia by 1-0 courtesy a late goal
from Hernandez in their 2nd match of UEFA Champions League.
The Mexican was sent on from the bench in the 2nd hall by Ferguson to break the deadlock; the front man obliged and spanked home the winner just 5 minutes from time.
"The way he took his chance, it was like shelling peas. It was so natural to him," said a delighted Ferguson.
"He has work to do on his physique but you cannot take away from the fact that he is a fantastic finisher."
Hernandez was also understandably delighted by the goal, he said that as a child he used to watch Champions’ League on television and always dreamt of scoring a dramatic winner in a big game. Javier signed for Manchester United
just before the World Cup from Chivas for 7 million pounds.
"It was a great night," added the 22-year-old. "I am so happy about the goal but also it was important to get the win and the three points.
"I always used to watch the Champions League when I was back home in Mexico. It is one of the most important tournaments in the world, so I was always keeping up with it”.
Hernandez has been one of the most exciting buys for United in a long time, probably since Cristiano Ronaldo or Carlos Tevez were at the club. Ever since his arrival there has been a buzz among the fans and the weight of expectations
has been on the young striker. He said that scoring such a crucial and exciting goal would go a long way for him. Hernandez said that he loves every moment of being a United player, and would like to be at Old Trafford for a long time to come.
Hernandez added: "The goal will give me so much confidence. I am only at the start of my career with United and to score so early in the Champions League is a big boost.
"It is great to be a Manchester United player and I want that to continue for a long time."
The Manchester United boss was also pleased to have his captain Rio Ferdinand back after an injury lay off.  Moreover, Rio Ferdinand had an evident calming influence on the game. The back four did look more settled and composed.
Manchester United’s defence this season has been leaking goals regularly and the return of their main centre back would be a big boost for the team.
"You've got to give us credit for the way we defended," added Ferguson. "They're not top of the Spanish league for nothing.
"Rio needed a game like that. He has the experience, which was vital and the ability to keep the ball, which is important. His experienced helped us. There is no question about that.
"For his first real game in a long time we are very pleased with that. He has not played for five months. He had games against Rangers and Scunthorpe, but this was a real game."
Ferguson said that the Champions League campaign is up and running, following a disappointing draw against Rangers in the first match it was a welcome win for United. Red Devils are now on top of their group C.
"It's a great result for us. It's not easy coming here," he stated. "Rangers also won tonight and have got Valencia in a double header next, so it's important we kick on now."
