Sir Alex Ferguson hails Manchester United’s display against Stoke City – English Premier League
Peter Crouch brought an end to Manchester United’s perfect start to the English Premier League season with his 52nd minute equalizer against the Red Devils at the Britannia stadium but Sir Alex Ferguson was happy with
a draw in the end given the nature of the tie against Stoke City. Manchester United took the field against the Potters with a lengthy list of injured stars such as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 Smalling and Rafael da Silva, this meant
that Sir Alex Ferguson went with a front two pairing of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Valencia-c6345 at right back.
However Sir Alex’s hand was forced again in the opening few minutes of the encounter as United had introduce http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jonathan-Woodgate-c19069. Nonetheless, United
did take the lead in the first half courtesy of a brilliant run by Luis http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 spoke after his team’s one all draw
at the Britannia stadium and voiced his contentment at the draw given that an away trip to Stoke City in the English Premier League isn’t an easy trip by any stretch of the imagination.
The Scotsman said, "I was pleased with the performance from the lads - they battled really hard and played like real champions. If Stoke were going to score it was probably going to be from a set-piece. They've got some big lads
in their team and they do keep you under pressure that way.”
He added, "In terms of the attacking part we showed some good play and maybe should have scored more. We've always done well here, but all the changes we had to make today [with injuries to Evans, Hernandez and Rooney] maybe just
unsettled us a bit for parts of the game. A draw is probably a fair result. It's a difficult place to come to."
The veteran tactician also praised http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-de-Gea-c10463 by saying, "He had a couple of great saves in the first half and looked very confident. He has terrific composure, nothing disturbs him. He just sailed through the game." Sir Alex’s
men will now host F.C Basel at Old Trafford on Tuesday night before taking on Norwich City next weekend. Some of the more experienced members of the Manchester United squad might get a run out against F.C Basel given the extent of the injury crisis at Old
Trafford.
