After facing suggestions that he might be set to earn a personal profit from Manchester United’s initial public offering of their shares, Sir Alex Ferguson has hit out at the critics and made it clear that he is not the manager
at Old Trafford for personal gain...
Manchester United’s long standing manager has hit out against suggestions that he is set to gain profits on a personal level via the club’s initial public offering scheme under the Glazer family’s owner ship.
Ferguson’s rebuttal comes out at a time when he has been very vocal about how the Glazer family has backed Manchester United’s fortunes ever since taking over and have never interfered with his job at the club. The Scotsman also
revealed that the American owners had never denied him funds for transfer targets and that Manchester United have done well under their ownership.
Just last month, United’s manager had hit out at fans who had taken up a crusade against the Glazers in order to force them to sell the club but now he is on the back foot defending himself against criticism of personal gain at
Manchester United. United did not do well last season as they lost the Premier League title race to Manchester City and failed to get past the group stages in the UEFA Champions League.
Sir Alex’s outfit failed to impress in the F.A Cup or even the Carling Cup as well. In the summer transfer window, United have added Nick Powell and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Shinji-Kagawa-c33364 to their squad but it remains to be seen whether such additions
will be enough to challenge the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and Manchester City next season for the league title.
Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 said, "There is not a single grain of truth in this allegation. This is an accusation that insults me. I do not receive any payments, directly or indirectly, from the IPO. Ultimately, I run the football side of this club
and in order to do this, you need backing from above."
He added, "The Glazer family have let me get on with my http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684, there is no interference or obstruction, only support. My decisions and beliefs are not based around what is best for my personal financial gain. That is an accusation
that insults me. If that was the case I would have left Old Trafford a long time ago.”
