Sir Alex Ferguson insists not to write off Manchester United against Barcelona – EPL News
Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, has insisted that no one can write-off the Red Devils in spite of them being considered the underdogs. The veteran manager was talking ahead of their UEFA Champions League final against Barcelona, which will
be taking place on Saturday, May 28, at Wembley.
Manchester United are being tagged underdogs for that encounter as has always been the case whenever these two sides have come together. The 69-year-old stressed that United have been playing like champions throughout the season and would try to take revenge
of the 2009 Champions League final, where they were defeated by a 2-0 margin by the same opposition.
He admitted that his side are up against a very attacking unit but mentioned that the Red Devils will not let pressure get the better of them. He further confirmed that it will be a huge occasion for both teams and hoped that his side can finish one step
ahead of the opposition.
While talking to a local television channel, Ferguson said, "Everyone is saying we are playing a fantastic team, which we are. But you can't write us off. You can never write Manchester United off."

confident ahead of the game.
He added that even though Rooney was fit to play during the second leg of the semi-final, he never wanted to risk the striker.
He concluded by saying, "Patrice got a kick, I was ready to substitute him but he said he was OK. Wayne will be all right. I wasn't prepared to take a risk."
Manchester United advanced through to the final of the competition after thumping the Bundesliga side Schalke 04, 6-1 on aggregate. Barcelona, on the other hand, made their way into the final after beating arch-rivals Real Madrid 3-1 on aggregate.
Manchester United are currently leading the Premier League chart with 73 points and their game against Chelsea holds massive importance.
