Sir Alex Ferguson looking to land Ashley Young
Manchester United’s manager, Sir Alex Ferguson is looking to make a big money offer for Aston Villa’s in form winger, Ashley Young. The manager has been reported to be keeping tabs on the player for quite some time and is now looking
to finally make a move for the player once the season comes to an end.
Young, who has expressed his desire of staying at Villa to try and get things back on track, may still make the move if the team is still in the bottom half of the table by the end of the season.
Alex Ferguson has been reported to consider making a move for the player back when he was a Watford player. However, it seems like with the player now reaching his mid-twenties, the manager does not want to waste any time on trying
to lure the player to Old Trafford.
Reports suggest that Ferguson is willing to make an offer of £22 million for the Aston Villa player, who will be out of contract by the end of this year. This means the player will most likely be on his way out of Villa park.
Villa have already lost a number of important players in the past years and have not managed to finish in the top four of the Premier league. The most notable players to leave in recent times were Gareth Barry and James Milner,
whose departure has affected the club’s performance.
Gerard Houllier will hope to maintain the services of Young, who has amazing pace and even scores the occasional goal. However, for that to happen, Houllier will have to offer Young some incentives, either a better offer or promise
to bring in new players that would improve their performance.
However, Young may feel that his departure to a bigger club may be his only chance at Champions League football. He also has plans to cement his place in the England squad, which will be a bigger possibility if he plays for a side
like Manchester United. Whether or not Young departs for the team is now going to be decided at the end of the season.
