Manchester United’s veteran manager, Sir Alex Ferguson has come out and put a lid on all the transfer window talk in his interview to the press. Manchester United who won their latest league encounter against Fulham with a convincing
five goal margin have now closed the gap between themselves and Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table to just two points.
However a large part of the Premier League season still remains. It will be interesting to see how things play out between now and the end of the Premier League season but Manchester United still remain large favourites to retain
their league title. Regardless, United have been criticized over the past two to three weeks due to their knockout from the UEFA Champions League as well as the Carling Cup.
Both the knockouts have been attributed to United’s lack of creativity in the midfield department, something that Sir Alex Ferguson is under pressure to address in the upcoming January transfer window. Moreover, United’s injury
list is increasing at a drastic rate. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nemanja-Vidic-c27550 are already out but due to an injury sustained against Fulham, Ashley Young has been added to that list with a knock to his knee.
Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752’s team are now scheduled to face off against Wigan Athletic but the Scotsman is adamant that the Red Devils squad is good enough to challenge on all fronts. He said, "All things being equal I am perfectly happy with the
strength of our squad in terms of depth, quality and age range. I will not be swayed by the endless tweets and blogs urging the club to get busy in the transfer market next month.”
He added, "As far as I am concerned I am marching perfectly in step, true to my beliefs and principles. While recruiting some of the world's leading players can lift you into contention for honours, it doesn't necessarily take
you all the way, as I hope we will be able to demonstrate before the end of the season as other factors come into play.”
Manchester United will hope that they can close down the gap between themselves and City even further in the next few months and that their injured players will make a comeback sooner rather than later as the English Premier League
enters into its second stage with the Boxing Day fixtures.
