Manchester United’s manager defends his troops against allegations of mediocrity and says that his team have had their bad days just like anyone else...
Manchester United’s manager has come out and defended his team against harsh criticism from the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 player Alan Hansen who now works at BBC. Hansen declared in 1995 that Manchester United won’t be able to win the 1995-1996
English Premier League title as they had no experience and just kids in their squad.
However things turned out differently as with young stars such as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-Scholes-c29394 and Roy Keane, Manchester United took the battle to their rivals and eventually emerged as rightful winners of the Premier
League crown in 1996. Hansen’s comments have come back to bite him since then but his latest jibe at United has prompted Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson to respond in kind to the football pundit.
Hansen alleged in his recent show that the present Manchester United side was the worst Manchester United squad of players that he had seen in recent times. Sir Alex said in response to such criticism, “After the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 game,
one of the London papers said we were the worst United team he has seen, and I noticed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Hansen was at it again, saying we had not played well for one-and-a-half years.”
He added, “I reckon that comment goes alongside his claim a few years ago that you don't win anything with youngsters, and you know how he ended up with egg on his face after dismissing the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ryan-Giggs-c31985, Paul Scholes, David Beckham,
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gary-Neville-c14447 crop of kids so foolishly. Maybe he was just trying to rattle us on the eve of going to play his old club at Anfield in the cup at the weekend. I don't know how some of the critics come to their conclusions.”
Sir Alex elaborated that Manchester United had their fair share of bad days this season just like any other team but people should not forget the fact that they had 14 players out with injury for the fixture against Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385
