Sir Alex Ferguson says Manchester United deserved to win the English Premier League title – EPL news
Manchester United manager, Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson, believes that due to the combined efforts of the players and team management, the Red devils were able to pull off the historic 19th English Premier League title. Criticized often for not being equipped
with quality players this season, Ferguson has silenced his critics by guiding men in red to become the most successful club on English soil, having surpassed Liverpool’s record of 18 Premier League titles.
Ferguson praised his men’s efforts in the final game of the Premier League, where they pulled off a dramatic 4-2 victory over Blackpool after going 2-1 down in the second half. Ferguson has been criticized for not helping United win enough away games this
season. The Red Devils won only five games on their travels as compared to an astonishing 18 victories at Old Trafford.
69-year-old Ferguson, who was rumoured to leave the club at the end of the season, has denied the speculations and expressed his desire to carry on working as the United manager. While applauding the hard work being put in by the management and his team
in the 2010/11 Barclays Premier League season, he said:
“The players have been great and they deserve it. There’s been a lot of great performances. We’ve beaten http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and Tottenham. We’ve beaten all the top teams here. That’s pretty good.”
When asked to express his views over the belligerent performance of his team against Blackpool, scoring goals in the dying minutes of the match, he said:
“What a season, I don't think there's been a more dramatic one than this. All these last-minute goals, I don't know how you survive. I'll be stretchered out of here at the end of the day. It's just the nature of our club, that's how we go about it. The last-minute
goals [we score] epitomises the spirit of Manchester United.”
Despite emerging as Champions of the Premier League, Ferguson has some tough decisions to make regarding this summer transfer season. With many experienced United players expected to quit the club at the end of the season, Ferguson is looking for some new
faces to be induced in United before the start of the next season. United’s veteran goalkeeper, Edwin Van der Sar, is all set to follow the footsteps of legendary defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-Scholes-c29394
and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Owen-c25355, might also quit the club at the conclusion of this season.
