The Manchester United says that his team put in an ordinary performance without any rhythm to their game but still got the result that they wanted against Ajax in the round of 32 of Europa League...
Manchester United’s manager has come out and made it clear that he is not happy with the way his team performed against Ajax on Thursday night in the first leg of their knockout tie against Ajax in the Europa League. United travelled
to Amsterdam to face Ajax and failed to make a lasting impression despite the fact that they kept a clean sheet and scored two goals.
It was Javier Hernandez and Ashley Young who capitalized on mistakes inside the Ajax half of the field and netted two away goals for the English Premier League champions. Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 was hoping for a more enthusiastic and a quick
tempo performance but United produce a display which was lethargic at times despite the fact that they had some of their best players on display.
In the first half, players like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nani-c27299 and Ashley Young were extremely wasteful on the wings for United as they failed to put in any real crosses into the box. In the second half, United’s approached changed a bit after a half time
talk by Sir Alex. It was Nani who crossed to Young, who scored the first goal of the night whereas Rooney provided the assist for Hernandez’s goal which was second of the night.
Sir Alex said, “I’m delighted by the score line. I thought it was a very ordinary performance by us. We didn’t reach any great heights in the game, but we did improve in the second half and we probably deserved to win it. I didn’t
think we played well at all. There was no rhythm to our game.”
He added, “Ajax can make it difficult with the way they play when they close their midfield up. They pressed the ball really well. We didn’t get any tempo to our game at all in the first half. In the second half, we did improve
a lot, we missed some good chances. Not a brilliant performance in the second half, but good enough I think.”
