Manchester United’s manager admits that the English Premier league is getting tougher to win year by year due to the emergence of the likes of Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur...
After easily winning the English Premier League title by nine points via their total of 80 points in the Premier League standings last season, Manchester United face a uphill task of gaining a tally of around about 89-90 points
this season if they want to retain their Premier League title crown. Manchester City are currently at the top of the Premier League table with 48 points whereas Manchester United and Tottenham are second and third respectively with 45 points each.
Sir Alex Ferguson has already admitted that United will have to up their game if they intend to surpass City at the top of the table and by doing so cement themselves as prospective champions once again. However such a task is
easier said than done. Manchester United have lost their last two matches in the Premier League against Newcastle United and Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 and they are set to face off against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon at Old Trafford in their next league encounter.
Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 said in his latest press address, "It could be the high 80s the rate it is going, which is surprising. Two or three years back there was definitely a tightening up of the league. It became a bit harder and instead of
four teams battling for the top positions, you had six, with Manchester City and Tottenham coming into the reckoning as well. That makes it far more interesting for the spectators and neutrals."
He added, "I don't think it is impossible for the final totals to be double the number of points we have now but it is unlikely. It would be a hard task for the three of us to maintain that kind of consistency and get another 45
points. We have very difficult games away from home; http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, Tottenham and Manchester City. That is four massive games.”  United will aim to gain all three points against Bolton Wanderers as they cannot afford another slip up in the Premier League
with Tottenham Hotspur right on their backs.
