Sir Alex Ferguson surprised by the progress of Javier Hernandez – EPL news
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has expressed astonishment on the rapid progress made by the club’s summer signing Javier Hernandez.
The Mexican striker scored a brace in Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Marseille in the second leg of the knockout round fixture of the UEFA Champions League. The legendary manager of Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson singled out Hernandez for the praise
for United’s European victory.
Ferguson said, “I think we are surprised. When we bought him we thought it would take him some time to adjust first of all. He has adjusted to the physical part very well and he is lasting 90 minutes very well now. With Hernandez's form the way it is we
can make some changes now. Hernandez's pace and movement is helping us. He is real handful. You see the first goal, they boy's movement is fantastic.”
Javier Hernandez, who joined Manchester United in the summer of 2010, single-handedly won the match for Sir Alex by scoring both the goals against the French giants at Old Trafford- taking his goals tally of the ongoing 2010-11 season to 16 from 33 matches.

Hernandez and Manchester United both had to wait 70 more minutes to score the second goal. This time United’s impact substitute http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Valencia-c6345 initiated the move and once again Hernandez only had to tap-in thanks to his extraordinary movement inside the
box.
Despite conceding a late own goal through defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wes-Brown-c36791, who headed the ball towards his own net from a Marseille corner kick, Manchester United managed to see off the visitors and claimed the quarterfinal berth of the UEFA Champions League for the
fifth consecutive season.
Sir Alex Ferguson hailed his team’s overall performance against Marseille and expects them to be at their best in the upcoming European fixtures.
Ferguson said, “I am proud of the team's achievements. We have had some great experiences in the European Cup over the years. It is the best tournament in the world. It is the one you want to try and win again. This team's best chance is because our away
form is very good. That always gives you a chance in the next stage. It does not matter who you get, you have got to take it. You cannot pick your teams. At this stage you are going to get a very hard game.”
