Ferguson welcomes back Valencia
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson revealed he was glad to welcome http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 in the Champions League but is now
back for the Red Devils.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ecuador-c2889 international made his presence felt in the Champions League clash against Ligue 1 side Marseille, which secure their passage into the quarter finals of the European competition. Ferguson was confident Valencia’s return at this point in the season
would give United a huge boost.
Ferguson said while speaking to reporters, “Antonio has showed in the parts of the games he's played so far why we've missed him. He is a fantastic footballer. He came on at the right time against Marseille because Nani was starting to wilt a bit after his
injury.”
Valencia has returned for country as well and featured in the match against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Colombia-c2873. Even though the winger was fairly impressive last Tuesday, his side lost 2-0 to the Columbians. Slowly but surely Valencia is on his way to regaining his top form and the
United boss admitted the winger could have a huge impact on the team.
Ferguson praised Valencia and credited him for helping Manchester United getting past Marseille in the Champions League. He said the 25-year-old had read the game well and was responsible for setting up the second goal for Javier Hernandez.
The Manchester United boss did not think it was a case of either Valencia or http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nani-c27299 and revealed he was pleased to have both present in his squad. He continued, “It is a big plus point. Having both Antonio and Nani is a big boost for us.”
Vidic to play for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Serbia-c3002
Sir Alex Ferguson will be watching closely as defender Nemanja Vidic prepares to feature for Serbia next week. The United skipper has been out since the FA Cup clash against Arsenal, having missed out the next Premier League and Champions League clashes.
Even though Ferguson would have preferred to rest the Serbian international further, the national coach http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vladimir-c36322 Petkovic has other plans. Petkovic confirmed the 29-year-old would be featuring in the match, he said while speaking to reporters, “Vidic definitely
plays from the first minute”
It is probable that Ferguson disapproves of the Serbian coach’s decision to play Vidic, when he has not fully recovered. The United boss is currently suffering a defensive crisis which has seen http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rio-Ferdinand-c31173 and Johnny Evans being ruled out of the upcoming
fixtures.
This means Ferguson needs all of his other defenders, especially with the upcoming games set to determine his side’s season. Manchester United are currently competing for the treble, the FA Cup, English Premier League and the Champions League.
