The long-serving Manchester United boss claims that the Reds are in pole position to pick up another Premiership title and hailed his side’s weekend display against West Brom.
With the 19-time English champions finally keeping a clean sheet on the weekend, most teams in the Premier League will fear the worst as Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson and his troops kick into top gear.
United’s impressive attacking options are already a sight to behold and considering that they have managed to outscore their way to the top, there will be no stopping them if they manage to overcome their defensive crisis.
With skipper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nemanja-Vidic-c27550 back, Fergie has seen his side showcase their ability to keep opponents out and maintain their philosophy along the way.
West Brom were on the end of a 2-0 thrashing by the Red Devils on Saturday, which took them seven points clear of nearest challengers Manchester City.
Now United are due to visit Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium, before playing West Ham in the F.A Cup. Nonetheless, their top dog status in the Premier League is secure and Ferguson is clearly relishing the chance to pick up yet another major gong in his
seemingly endless career.
"We're in a good position. We're halfway there. We've a game on Tuesday away from home at Wigan and we've got a few players to freshen it up. We'll look forward to the next game and try and win it. It's important, though, that we do not sit looking at the
league table, admiring our position, positive though it is, because we would soon get a rude awakening,” said Fergie while talking to the media.
Continuing, he added that the seven point gap between them and Manchester City was going to count for nothing, if his players don’t win the next match and maintain their victorious streak till the end of the season.
"Congratulating ourselves on our Premier League lead doesn't mean a thing to me. It's winning the next game that counts,” the ex-Aberdeen boss was quoted as saying to the press.
Although they are firm favourites for the title, United will need to overcome Wigan in their away game or risk a repeat of last term’s catastrophic result.
