Manchester United legend Sir Bobby Charlton claims that the club’s success this season will be down to the feats of manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who has again proved pundits wrong by guiding the side ever closer to their 20th title.
Arguably the greatest tactician ever to grace the game, Sir Alex Ferguson has won everything there is to win in his reign at Old Trafford, which has spanned more than twenty-five glorious years.
However despite his unprecedented success, the Scot is eager to add even more trophies to the United cabinet and has not let his hunger for success wane over the years.
This season’s squad has been one of the most frail in the club’s history and had there been any other manager leading the team, there would surely not be in
ascendancy for the title, given how Manchester City were performing at one point.
While the players have been integral to regaining top spot in the Premiership, it has been Fergie’s astute managing skills that have helped them overtake their ‘Noisy Neighbours’ in the past few weeks.
The ability to rescue a point at the very end of the game is something which has been a hallmark of the Ferguson era and it could well lead to title number twenty this term, something which Sir Bobby Charlton claims is down to the great man himself.
"So much credit has to go to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 and his coaches for having United involved in the title race again this season. At the start of every campaign you want to avoid injuries and suspensions, and United have had such incredible misfortune with injuries that
it's really staggering to be in the position we're in,” he said.
"There's been so much said about Alex - especially this season, with him passing his 25th anniversary with the club - that it's hard to add anything new. He's just marvellous, and the way he lifts everyone around him is incredible.”
United now play http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 on the weekend before travelling to the Etihad Stadium next week for the hugely awaited Manchester derby that will surely determine the outcome of this year’s Premier League.
