The Red Devils’ legend and their former record goal scorer, Sir Bobby Charlton has declared his happiness over the return of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-Scholes-c29394 to Manchester United’s midfield as Sir Alex Ferguson managed to persuade the Englishman out
of retirement to help the Red Devils in their English Premier League title charge.
Paul Scholes retired from professional footballer last year after United’s loss to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 in the UEFA Champions League but the English Premier League champions troubled by their injury casualties were forced into recalling
their legendary playmaker for the rest of the season. With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson’s team lacked a focal point of creativity in the midfield area and thus Scholes has been called back into action.
The Manchester United midfielder made his return to Old Trafford in fine style over the weekend as he scored the opening goal of their Premier League win over Bolton Wanderers. Scholes dictated the tempo of the game as United ran
out as clear 3-0 winners at the Theatre of Dreams. Sir Alex has been quite vocal in his praise for the 37 year old Scholes and so has Sir Bobby Charlton.
Sir Bobby said in his recent interview, "I have been more upbeat since I heard about Paul Scholes returning to the squad. It is one of the best pieces of news I have ever had. He is a sensational footballer and we are very lucky
to have him. Maybe the one thing Sir Alex had given a bit of thought to was that we needed a creative player in midfield.”
He added, "Suddenly there is a knock on the door and it is Paul Scholes saying he wants to play again. Alex must have thought it was Christmas all over again." Sir Alex has given Scholes the no.22 jersey which the playmaker had
worn during the early days of his career at Manchester United as his previous number 18 has already been taken up by Ashley Young.
